Alexandra Smith ‘06

Alexandra Smith writes that she capped her Choate Rosemary Hall years performing Eponine in “Les Miserable” in Choate’s 2009 spring musical. During the summer she worked as an Administrative Assistant in the school’s International Summer Program. Then it was off to study business at Georgetown University where she continues her music and theatre pursuits, performing in the fall 2009 musical “Caroline or Change” and as a member of the co-ed A cappella group, The Saxatones.

James Seaburg ‘06

James Seaberg is having a “great” experience at The Kiski School, near Pittsburgh, PA. Jimi bounced back from spine surgery last year with high honors. No longer playing football, he is now the “voice” of the Kiski Cougars football team on the school’s radio station. He lives with his family in Lewisburg, PA.

Nick Darin, a senior at Xavier High School, reports that he is busy completing college applications and said he and his parents still miss Mooreland.

Thomas Hoyt Pease ‘04

Thomas Hoyt Pease is a senior at Gordon College, Wenham, MA, where he is an English major. Thomas’ classmates may remember his affinity for Halloween and costume design. Remember the Monopoly Man costume? He is still at it, making Where’s Waldo and Green Lantern costumes for Halloween at Gordon. Thomas works at Camp Brookwoods in New Hampshire during the summers. He is engaged to be married to the “love of his life”, Abigail Linnell, in June 2012.

2001 MHS grad – Vocalist/Songwriter Melanie Fontana publishes first song

Mooreland Hill Class of 2001 Alumni, Melanie Fontana has been working hard to make her mark in the music industry. Today she is officially on the map.

Pop Mega superstar Justin Bieber released his holiday album “Under the Mistletoe” on November first which includes a track written by Melanie and her team of songwriters in Los Angeles titled “HOME THIS CHRISTMAS” which features The Band Perry. The album is available on iTunes as well as local department stores. “Home This Christmas” is Melanie’s first published work as a songwriter.

Melanie continues to perform as well as songwrite. Since her graduation from MHS, Melanie has performed at children’s parties, as well as performances at town events,area coffee houses and lounges as well as New Britain children’s festivals prior to moving out of state. She has performed at top entertainment spots such as The Apollo Theatre in Harlem, NY and B.B. Kings in NYC. Most recently she has performed at House of Blues in Los Angeles as well as at the Los Angeles Lobster Festival. She is also recognizable in the greater Hartford and tri-state area for having written and recorded a trio of parody songs for DJ Gary Craig of WTIC-FM 96.5 in Hartford which aired coast to coast as well as via internet radio.

Melanie is currently employed as a songwriter and vocalist with various production teams in Los Angeles and works at several major recording studios. She is also employed part time as a vocalist/hostess for Wayne Foster Entertainment. Melanie currently lives in North Hollywood, CA with her siamese cat, Ms. Vanderbilt.
