Drama

Fall Musical 2009, Once on this Island
The drama program at Mooreland Hill is considered part of our academic program and encompasses our entire student population. During December, the students present a musical production to the community. Every student participates in either a lead role, a supporting character, a member of the chorus, or on the technical crew for stage, lighting and sound. Consummate actors as well as very shy young people have enjoyed performing on stage and have found that drama is the perfect vehicle for them to showcase their talents. Past musical productions include Once on this Island, Godspell, Oliver , School House Rock, and Aladdin. Additionally, students who choose to further their study of dramatic arts are encouraged to participate in “Winter Drama,” which typically works toward the performance of a non-musical play. Often, students find this challenging because they may be expected to write, cast, and even direct portions of these plays. Examples of past shows include Fractured Fairy Tales and Class Act.
