Mooreland Hill School Summer 2010 Reading Assignment

Grades 4 and 5 

In addition to the required reading listed below, students must fill out a bookreport card for each of the three books read as part of the summer reading program. Book report cards can be downloaded below (.pdf), and should be printed out and delivered to Mr. Salonia or Ms. Whitman on the first day of school. Be sure you are downloading and using the MAG card and not the grades 6-9 reading card. Cards are also available at the school.

4/5 MAG Summer Card

Grades 6, 7, 8, 9

Each student must read the two required selections for the grade he or she is entering into. In addition, each student is required to choose two books of his or her own preference, provided they are at or above the student’s reading level. Take this as an opportunity to improve your reading skill and increase your vocabulary.

Grades six through nine will use the reading cards available online and downloadable below (.pdf). Each student is required to complete one card for each of the four books read. Students should print a copy of each card and take them to English class on the first day of school.

Also located on this site is a supplemental suggested reading list. Please take some time to review this list when you are selecting books to read this summer.
