MOORELAND HILL SCHOOL ACHIEVES MILLION DOLLAR CAMPAIGN GOAL, CONTINUES ON.
The achievement of the one million dollar goal for the Mooreland Hill School “Fund for Today and the Future” capital campaign was announced to a gathering of campaign volunteers on the school’s Kensington campus last week.
Gail A. Byeff, President, Board of Trustees, said, “Alumni, parents and friends of Mooreland Hill joined together to take the ‘Fund for Today and the Future’ to the top in just five months. This success has given the school the impetus to continue the campaign in support of the very best in independent school education for girls and boys in grades five through nine.”
Dr. Richard L. Judd and Brendan T. Conry, campaign co-chairs, commented that the response has been a confirmation of the importance of Mooreland Hill to the community. They added that the students and faculty are the beneficiaries of the generosity of donors and that a recent contribution was a $100,000 family gift for scholarship support.
Headmaster Michael D. Dooman said, “There are more opportunities to support the school in its commitment to excellence in education and being a community partner. As we begin planning for the school’s 80th anniversary in 2010, we now strive to take the campaign to the next level for expanded endowment resources to support operations and student financial aid, fitting tributes to the original founders who established the school in 1930.”
Conry and Judd expressed “deep appreciation” for all of the volunteers and donors who made the success of the campaign possible, the campaign counsel, Gorzoch Associates, and for the efforts of parents and the Parents’ Association.
Mooreland Hill enrolls students from cities and towns throughout the central Connecticut region, Information about the school, admission open houses and the capital campaign may be obtained by calling Headmaster Dooman at 860.223.6428, or by e-mail at mdooman@mooreland.org.
